Cebu City
is situated on the east side of the island. In the recent years it has undergone a dramatic change mainly due to the rise in the tourist trade. There is a wide spread educational ”Clean and Green” programme though out the Philippines, and signs, placards and paintings can been seen everywhere.
Cebu City has been influenced greatly and many of the streets, if crowded, are lined with trees, some even with flower beds. Several large shopping malls have recently been build and poor areas have been improved. Several buildings from the Spanish occupation can be seen in the city centre and above, on the hill the Chinese Temple provides a bird’s eye view as well as being and interesting place to visit. |
